Welcome to Nook (the "Service"), operated by Quarlabs ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Nook is an experimental family news platform that uses artificial intelligence to curate and rewrite kid-friendly news summaries from publicly available sources. Content is for information and education only and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or 100% age-appropriate. Parents/guardians should read alongside their children and provide supervision.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be 18 or older, or a parent/guardian of the child, to create an account. Children should use the Service under adult supervision.
• You are responsible for your account security (including your password) and for activity under your account, and for providing accurate information.
• Reading the news does not require an account; accounts are primarily for upcoming subscriptions and premium features.
• Signed-in accounts can use optional features such as reading history (off by default) and bookmarks. These are stored on your account; you can clear or disable them at any time — see the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Subscriptions (coming soon)

We may offer paid subscriptions in the future (for example, a daily PDF news digest, a daily challenge game, and an ad-free experience). Pricing, promotions, and terms will be presented at the point of purchase and may change from time to time.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by scraping or bulk-downloading content without authorisation, interfering with its operation, attempting unauthorised access, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual property & third-party content

The Nook brand, design, and editorial presentation belong to Quarlabs. Copyright in the original articles, headlines, and images belongs to their respective publishers; the Service links out to the original sources and does not imply endorsement. If you are a rights holder and believe content is used improperly, contact us at the email below or use the in-app "report" feature and we will take it offline promptly.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant the accuracy, timeliness, availability, or age-appropriateness of any content. Third-party websites are responsible for their own content, privacy, and terms.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quarlabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; updates are posted on this page. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.
